But based on my personal experience, it is better to take Gazette Publication and update name in Aadhaar card first. Most of the other documents/IDs can be updated easily if your Aadhaar Card is up-to-date.
Once legal process of changing your name is completed, you have to visit Aadhaar Enrollment Center for updating your name in Aadhaar Card.
You can locate an Aadhaar Enrollment Center here. You will have to fill-in the "Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Form" and pay a nominal fee for update service (~ 50). After filling enrollment/update form, your biometric data and your proof(s) of 'change in name' would be verified at the center.
Don't forget to collect URN (Update Request Number) at the center. This is needed to track your application status online. Once you submit Gazette Publication copy and your documents are accepted, your name would be updated within 3-5 days (even though officially they say it takes 90 days to update your name, processing is faster in Aadhaar department).
You will come to know whether your name is updated or not by tracking online or through registered email address.
